Cacao ceremonies are one of the oldest heart-opening rituals on earth - a sacred practice rooted in the ancient Mayan and Aztec traditions of Mesoamerica, where pure ceremonial cacao was revered as a plant medicine, a teacher, and a bridge to the inner world.
Unlike the processed chocolate we know today, ceremonial-grade cacao is prepared in its purest form, retaining the full spectrum of its natural compounds. Rich in theobromine (which gently opens the heart and increases blood flow to the brain), magnesium, antioxidants, and mood-enhancing plant compounds, cacao works subtly and powerfully to soften the mind, open the heart, and bring you into deep presence with yourself.
A cacao ceremony at Terra Balance is a mindful, intentional gathering - a space to slow down, reconnect, and listen to what your heart already knows. Sessions are woven together with guided meditation, breathwork, journaling prompts, gentle movement, and sound, creating a full sensory experience that supports emotional release, creative awakening, and inner clarity.
Cacao does not take you anywhere you are not ready to go. It simply helps you arrive more fully in the present moment.
1:1 Private Ceremony
A private cacao ceremony is an intimate, deeply personalised experience crafted entirely around your intentions, your energy, and what you need most in this moment of your life. Whether you are processing a major life transition, seeking creative inspiration, working through emotional blocks, or simply craving a meaningful ritual of self-connection, the 1:1 ceremony holds space for exactly that.
Your session begins with a brief intention-setting conversation, giving us the opportunity to understand where you are and what you’re calling in. The ceremony itself unfolds gently - beginning with the preparation and blessing of your cacao, followed by a guided opening meditation, the ceremonial drinking of cacao, and a deeply immersive journey using breathwork, visualisation, and sound healing to support whatever needs to move or integrate.
The session closes with a grounding practice, space for reflection, and a journaling invitation to anchor your insights before re-entering everyday life.
Private ceremonies are a beautiful gift to yourself or a loved one, and a truly meaningful way to mark a birthday, a new chapter, a grief, a celebration, or simply a moment of intention.
Available in person or online. In-person sessions can be held at your home or a chosen location. All ceremonial materials are provided.

Group Ceremony
The group cacao ceremony is where individual healing meets collective magic. There is something profoundly moving about sitting in ceremony with others - the shared silence, the collective breath, the unspoken recognition that we are all, in some way, on the same journey.
Group ceremonies are held in small, intimate circles to ensure the space remains safe, intentional, and deeply held. Each ceremony is themed - whether around a new moon, a seasonal shift, a shared intention such as releasing fear or calling in abundance, or simply the practice of coming home to the heart.
The ceremony begins with a welcome and grounding practice, followed by an introduction to the spirit and tradition of cacao for those who are new to the practice. Cacao is then prepared and served ceremonially, with each participant invited to set a personal intention before drinking. From there, the journey unfolds through guided meditation, breathwork, music, movement, and space for stillness and inner reflection.
Group ceremonies also include time for optional sharing at the close - a beautiful opportunity to witness and be witnessed in a safe and non-judgmental space.
Group ceremonies are available online (via Zoom) and in person for groups of 4–12 participants. Private group bookings are also available for hen parties, corporate wellness events, retreats, and wellness gatherings.
