I didn't spend years living a life that wasn't mine. I built things I was proud of - a skating career, event productions across three continents, rink operations in the Middle East, a women's health platform, an Ironman. And when the time came to move on from each of them, I moved.
That sounds simple. It rarely felt that way.
Knowing when to change is one thing. Finding the courage to actually do it - to leave something that still looks good on paper, to choose the uncertain thing over the comfortable one, to trust a feeling over a plan - is another entirely. Most people wait for a reason everyone else will understand. I've learned that reason rarely comes. At some point you just have to decide that your instinct is enough.
